Legendary producer and 3rd member of the Outkast helmed Earthtone III production team Mr. DJ joins former Co-Ed singer Jeff. B to form Mama’s Mustache. They have an EP dropping on February 22nd. I’ve actually heard most of it and it’s really dope. Follow them on twitter here.

BLVD St is gonna try something new this week - a grab bag of new joints from all over the place that either caught our ear or were worth mentioning. They come from all different areas of rap, not just country rap tunes, and mostly will be from Atlanta. The goal is to put songs out there that other blogs aren’t really posting or mentioning. So without further ado,
Will - A Day In The Life ft Keith Charles
We posted Will’s noteworthy Stoned On MARTA mixtape a while back, and it he doesn’t seem to have slowed down the pace. This track, using the infamous “Mystic Brew” sample to new effect, features fellow Thumps Up crew member Keith Charles. It fits Will’s general theme of jazzy, laid back tracks, which work for him nicely because although his voice is relaxed, his flow is actually more on the aggressive side. This allows him to seamlessly snap into a few double-time bars at any point in a verse. Will and the Thumbs Up crew have a big show entitled BREAK YA RADIO this Saturday at the Apache Cafe. I (Air Max) will be in attendance and you all should come check out these dudes showcase their talent.
Catalyst - Lonely Ave
Lonely Ave by atlcatalyst
You may recognize Catalyst as one half of Atlanta’s The Nice Guise, alongside the equally dope Ty-Vicious. They’ve been rapping over laid back, cipher style beats like this for some time, usually produced by the likes of Baka or DT of Clan Destined. This track is entirely a solo venture, lyrics and music coming from Catalyst himself. Flow and rhymes have never been a problem for this man, and making his own beats shows that he’s focused on crafting complete songs at this point. I think this first venture is pretty successful. The song was mixed by the homey DJ Grizzly, who you should hit up for affordable engineering in Atlanta.
Mr Krazy - Got My Mind Made Up
I don’t know too much about Mr Krazy, besides that he’s a young dude from the east side of Atlanta with a hustler’s spirit. I met him randomly one day and he gave me a copy of his mixtape, Trapahpedia. I put it in my CD player and my subwoofers almost blew out. We’ve posted his music here before, before our servers got wiped out. Straight trap shit seems to be what he does best. This track is another one that sounds good in a properly equipped ride. It’s off of the sequel, Trapapedia 2, coming soon.

Kaj Kadence - Wake Up
Don’t know much about this dude either but I stumbled across his online collection and thought he had a pretty cool style. “Wake Up” is my favorite of these tracks, but there’s definitely a handful of other bangers on that page as well. You can also check out his Twitter HERE

Dedicated to all the hardworking ladies out there! Another one from Ricky Fontaine, Walt Live, and Hibbit the Bama Legend. Don’t sleep on these songs because they’re about women - they’ve been showing us some truly funky production with deceptive depth and complexity. Looking forward to more.

It’s a beautiful thing to see artists with the BLVD St pedigree getting out there and performing for the people. It’s important that yall hit up your local promoters and tell them you want to see these guys in your city.
