This is the first P. Dukes track I ever heard and it caught my attention immediately. For that reason, it was a good choice to lend some visuals to this track. It’s a great introduction to Dukes’ style, which is a rare instance of punchlines and cleverness actually being anchored by an engaging personality and mic presence. Dukes has been getting it in around the city for a minute and I can’t imagine it’ll be too long before his name starts to ring out beyond 285.
The Niceguys are an hip hop band (like the Roots) from Houston, TX. Their sound is more jazz-inspired than funk-inspired, but at BLVD ST we like to keep an eye on anyone who’s out there making an effort to infuse their beats with live instrumentation. Their debut album, The Show, releases on September 28.

Here’s something jammin from Billion Dollar Circle, a group out of Atlanta consisting of Chief Josh, Hard Nard, and Sunny Carson. Be on the lookout for more material from them soon, and remember you heard it first on BLVD ST. Also shout out to Dow Jones!

The homie Ethereal has been doing his thing for a minute now, with stacks of free music at his Supernatural Bandcamp site. This song, from his upcoming “Real Good” EP is some of that purp on the perimeter music that I love to hear from up and coming Atlanta artists. Introspective Minds handle the production. You know what to do to this one, folks.
KD takes you on a ride through the Ensley neighborhood on the Westside of Birmingham. Welcome 2 Birmingham mixtape coming soon.
With an album as masterful as Starshipz and Rocketz, it’s never too late to promote. S&R was the album that really opened my ears to the Slowmotion Sound, and “Run Things” was the capstone to the barrage of trance-inspired tracks at the tail end of the album. The new visual for the video is right in time to be debuted on the new SMS website, where you can go to catch up on all things Slow Mo.
