DOWNLOAD: PJ The Rap Hustler - What U Hatin’ Fo

Boss Hogg Outlawz member PJ The Rap Hustler drops a new record for the streets. Produced by Da shit Factory. This is sure to get some club burn.

D-Ray is out of Da Shit Factory crew from Texas, headed up by one of the best producers currently in the game, DJ Mr Rogers whose resume includes classics like “Swang” from Trae and “Nicks & Dimes” from Killa. Rogers also produced this and its in my opinion, one of his finest achievments. Kyleon RIPS this shit. Don’t sleep.

One of my favorite songs this year. Street Life Cartel outta Indiana with some laid back HEAT for yah, “Woodgrain” from their self-titled album.

Pimp Daddy was one of Cash Money Records earliest artists, known mainly for his work in the New Orleans bounce music scene, which was widely popular around that region at the time. At the time his second CD was to be released, he was murdered from my understanding due to the involvement of some bitch. This song, which he doesn’t actually appear on, was done by B.G, Tec 9, and Yella Boy of UNLV as a memorial for Pimp and it appeared as the first proper song on his album, “Pimpin Aint Ez.” One of Mannie Fresh’ greatest treasures, wake yourself up to this Vintage Cash Money Records classic. R.I.P Pimp

By now I’m sure most of y’all have picked up on my nostalgia for the 03-06, Trap Muzik, In Da Streets era TIP. I’m of the opinion that during that time, dudes music was right there with the best of em. He could rap over some of the worst beats and somehow make the song sound official. His hunger was evident in his effortless flow and choice of subject matter. “Get It Up” is a perfect example of what I’m talkin about. TIP goes in over the type of beat you never want to end and spits some motivational bars to upcoming hustlers. He shows both sides of the game without coming off cheesy or unrealistic. I guess my writing this post was, in part, inspired by the very uninspiring records that have been leaking off “Paper Trail.” Yeah, “What Up” goes hard and “S.L.U.” is the shit but 2 outta 7 isn’t the type of ratio I’m looking for when buying an album. And 2 outta 7 definitely isn’t the type of ratio I expect from an artist of his calibur. Maybe he’s feeling the heat from the underwhelming response he received commercially from T.I. vs T.I.P., or maybe its the conditions of his probation that has his subject content “handcuffed.” Either way, I’ll just wait til he serves his year in jail and comes out with a renewed hunger and passion for music - 2Pac style.

Buck spits some gun talk over a chill instrumental. Judging by the continued amount of quality music he’s released this past 6 months, I think he’s now slowly crept in my top 5. Buck’s mixtape records > 90% of most rapper’s album cuts.

I wasn’t gonna post this bc it’s pretty much everywhere by now. But as I’m reading posts and message boards I see everyone neglecting a key fact about the record…its produced by the legendary DJ Squeeky! Yes, THAT DJ Squeeky. One of the pioneers of Memphis rap. I grew up jammin alot of his albums including the series of Mission albums and his Mo Chedda artists Tom Skeemask & Project Playaz. So to find out he’s still working (and sounding as great as ever) is great news to me. I thought he had gave up on producing or was somewhere sleeping on the pile of money he made off his independent albums in the mid 90s (that is if Select-O-Hits didn’t pocket the profits). Can’t wait to hear what else he has coming! For more info check him out @ http://www.myspace.com/legndarydjsqueeky. Check after the jump for a classic Mo Chedda joint.
