As I was jammin to some Ronnie Dyson the other day I heard a joint that sounded very familar. It took me a day or two to put my finger on it but I realized it was Scarface’s Never. I guess it took me a minute becuase the song is actually saying “Sara”, not “Never” like I previously thought. Drumma Boy did his thing flipping the sample. Pitching it up, adding some hard drums and bongo accents.

Here’s the other joint that Kilo & Mr. DJ we’re working on for Kilo’s untitled new project. Seeing as how we’ll probably see Fabo drop a solo album (yeah fuckin right) before Kilo officially releases a single, you’ll just have to enjoy the craziness that this song is.
So I’ve just finished an experiment that I conducted on myself over the past month. The results were amazing. The answer - absolutely fucking nothing. lol. (more…)
I forgot to do a CDC last week so I had to come extra hard this week. Here’s a soulful joint that I think a lot of folks will really appreciate. I wish I could hear Bo pour his heart out over dope shit like this more often but the truth of the matter is that 9 times out of 10 good music doesn’t equal sales. And somethings gotta pay the bills so I can understand but still. (more…)
I’ve had a long day so I’m not going to say too much right now. This album is dope. The type of record that is NOT made these days. Son Of The Candy Lady has a very distinct sound thanks to Mr. DJ. He finds some of the dopest samples, matches them with vintage drums and comes out with something that sounds entirely fresh and memorable. (more…)
You know you’ve really went missing when there isn’t a single picture of you available on the internet taken within the last 5 years. This is the sad reality that faces one of Atlanta’s music pioneers. Before he was hauled away to jail in the mid 90’s for insurance fraud, Kilo Ali helped shape the sound of southern music. (more…)
Jason Weaver, a name that might not be instantly recognizable but his face certainly is. You might remember him from the TV show Smart Guy, the movie ATL or him singing the hook on Chingy’s One Call Away. (more…)
In part 2 our on-going series of unreleased Mr. DJ productions comes a gem from Yung Joc. Recorded for his first album New Joc City, this record could have drastictly changed the direction of his career had he released it. (more…)
