New Years is finally here and I figured I’d take the time out to share some game with the new artists/producers/songwriters that frequent this site. Here’s a gem off Prince’s self-titled second album. Filled with soft keys and phasing pads, “It’s Gonna Be Lonely” sounds like it belongs on a CD with the greatest slow jams of all time right beside “In Between The Sheets” and “Reasons.” DJ Toomp borrowed the chords from the breakdown at the end of the hook to build the beat for Kanye’s Big Brother.
