Andre 3000 Is So Futuristic.
Before your favorite rapper of the minute claimed he was futuristic because of his 80’s haircut (?) 3 stacks dropped this record on the Andre & Big Boi presents Outkast album and let the world know how disappointed he was in trendy-ness that had taken over hip hop. Thankfully, instead of letting his anger get the best of him and make an obligitory diss record he decided to channel it into creative energy and created one of the finest records in Outkast’s immense catalog.
As far as the verse goes it’s vintage Dre. Now that I’m getting older I can finally appreciate the poetry and true lyricism that he brings to every record. I always felt like I’ve learned something after hearing him rap and this song is no different.
Torn between Saturday night and early Sunday morn / I don’t know
i’m somewhere stuck in between, tween / I’m out here knowing Hip Hop is dead /
The average nigga on my corner yelling / What the fuck you mean, mean / See we
ain’t even seen, the mountain top counter clock / Wise goes the neighborhood
hand-me-downs and canned goods / Won’t cut the Grey Poupon we got that make you
run / Back to the drawing board can’t afford to lose y’all make me yawn / One
slash one slash ninety-one / My teacher sees potential in me says sit down son
/ Now
let me tell you like I heard it, when I felt deserted / It wasn’t no other way
to word it got my feelings murdered / By the bullet of bad, the singer of sad /
Songs to make you long for your mom and your dad / Plaid clash with polka dots
I hope you ain’t mad / Back up little mama i’m about to react //
i thought this and movin cool were underrated.. big killed it on movin cool and dre killed this
